Sampler
Early in 2014 I started to mess around with what was, to me at that time, a new perspective on music making. I had listened for the first time to some sample-only albums - such as Tales of the Forgotten Melodies or Since I Left You - and the option of marrying distinct interests such as collage, collecting and sound and music seemed too good to pass up.
Another aspect of it that peaked my interest was the ability to produce something fictional from concrete objects. The way I see it, these are songs that, in a way, do not exist except in the limbo created from the mass of pop-culture we live in.
The only restriction I imposed on the task - in order to make it chellenging and interesting - was to try to recreate the mood and soundscapes of spy movies.
I later realized I was very late to the sampling party. But it has been fun, nevertheless.
Below are some of the songs that resulted from this project. More will be added as they are finished. Many may be replced as they are polished. Click (show/hide) after the title to see a complete list of the different samples used in each song.
