This is my family tree.
I don't claim its history or characters to be of any special interest to anyone but me. Nevertheless tracing up my family roots became one of my main hobbies after an old notebook was passed down to me. It cointained whithin the registry of over 80 people from my grandmother's side of the family. I began researching and as I discovered more people (and that exciment when YOU are the one that adds another step to your family tree) I became fascinated not only by what was the unfolding of the events that lead to my birth, but also by the lives of those people, deeply connected with global and national events that only I can look at now with the clarity that hindsight and historical perspective can give.
Learning about distant relatives has allowed me to learn more about myself in a certain way. Maybe it's just a sense of belonging, of clarity of placement. Maybe it's the fact that I am 22 years old - as of this introduction - and so I do need to learn about myself, to build an identity and goals.
Whatever it may be, I wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't fun. People led interesting lives, did interesting things - or didn't and we find them interesting just because they are not us. And so this is my family tree, but also the fun part: the stories about the people, about me when finding about people, about my ideas on how I should build a family tree, etc.
